Generic Domain Frequently Asked Questions
A Variety Of Questions We Receive Regarding Domains and Purchasing
Who owns all these domain Names?
Genericwebdomains.com is the legal owner of all domains listed for sale on this website. This means a streamlined easy transaction for you. Will I own the domain when I buy it?
Yes of course. Once purchased, the domain(s) you choose will be transferred legally to YOUR NAME, and you will have full control over your new domain(s) to do anything you like.Do I get anything with my domain purchase?
Yes! With every domain purchased from Genericwebdomains.com we automatically add 1 year renewal to the domain prior to transfer for FREE! There are no graphics, websites, text, coding, or anything of that nature. You are buying the domain(s) name only. The extra year is our bonus to you.Should I change registrars after I own the domain?
This is entirely up to you. However, we HIGHLY recommend you stick with a large reputable registrar. All our domains are registered with large registrars who provide great service and user friendly access to your account.I found a domain I want, what do I do now?
Use our Contact form and tell us what domains you wish to purchase. If you are purchasing one of our Bargain Bin domains, we will send you a paypal link via email. If you are purchasing a domain other then the domains in the bargain bin, you have the option to use an escrow service to make the purchase and transfer. We currently use Escrow.com only. How Long Does The Transfer Take?
This will depend on you. If you use Paypal for payment, you could have the domain within hours. If you use Paypal and pay with a check, there is a 10 day hold. If you choose to use an Escrow service for the transfer, this could take a week or more. Bottom line, once we have a cleared payment, the domain will be transferred to your account immediately. What Do You Mean Transferred To My Account?
All our domains are registered primarily with Name.com and with Namecheap.com. We have used them for years and they have proven to be reliable and the transfer process is fairly easy. If you do not have an account with either one, you will need to open up an account (which is free) and then we will transfer (push) your purchased domain to your account.
You are now the legal owner and have sole control.
